I Dream Theater sono un gruppo musicale progressive metal statunitense, fondato a Boston nel 1985 da John Petrucci, John Myung e Mike Portnoy. Nonostante alcuni cambiamenti di formazione, i tre componenti originari sono sempre stati presenti nel gruppo fino all'8 settembre 2010, giorno in cui Portnoy decise di lasciare il gruppo.
